Easy Spicy Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita Recipe in Food, Recipes on 07/15/19 Helllloooo spicy babe friends, who is ready to get their drink on?! *Raises hand, all day every day. This weekend was quite the doozy, and by doozy I really mean BOOZY. Friday night Alex (my bf) and I celebrated his birthday with dinner at Fig & Olive, which of course included lotsa dranks. By the way, Fig & Olive is one of my fave spots in the city and you can always get a reservation like the day of, a few hours before. My sister and I actually did a prix fixe dinner here on New Year’s Eve and booked it the day of no issue. Make sure you order the crostinis if you go!! They had a huge summer cocktail list, all of which were inspired by the region of Provence, France. I got “La Vie en Rose,” which had gin, rose liqueur, champagne, rose water, lemon and rosebud… I have to say, it really started the weekend on a fantastic note. We also saw Toy Story 4 afterwards and ohmygosh if you haven’t yet, go see it asap!! It was adorable. I laughed and cried the entire time lol. Saturday night my bestie and I went to her family’s country club for a summer soirée; they had food and cocktail stations, live music, all taking place outside on a beautiful night. And then, after approximately 5 hours of drinking tequila, I somehow made it out to the clubs. And later that night drunkenly accidentally ate an entire beef taco even though I do NOT eat beef. It was traumatizing. Okay I’m getting off track. Anyhoo! Before the event Saturday, we put on some music and made our own cocktails! These were so easy to make, super pretty, and felt very profesh with the chili lime salt rim and jalapeño slices. Thought I’d share the recipe with y’all; they taste as good as they look and are the perfect light summer cocktail! Spicy Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita Ingredients (serves 1, just double or triple the recipe to make multiple margs!) 1/4 cup tequila (we used Casamigos, which I’m a huge fan of btw) 1/4 cup watermelon juice (make your own in the blender or buy pre made) Juice of 1 lime, squeezed 1 small jalapeño sliced (use more if you want more heat) Can of LaCroix or other sparkling water Ice, for shaking Trader Joe’s Chile Lime Seasoning (feel free to use regularl salt or make your own mix. This is a blend of sea salt, chile pepper, red bell pepper, and lime juice powder) Instructions Add the seasoning/salt to a small plate. Cut the lime in half and use it to wet the rim of the glass. Then, dip your glass in the salt, rolling from side to side, making sure it gets a heavy coating. Add ice to the glasses. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all of the ingredients into it. Shake for about 30 seconds and pour. Fish out about 3-4 of the jalapeño slices and add to the drink. Top with a splash of LaCroix. Garnish with a slice of lime if you so choose and enjoy!
