Everything I Wore in Laguna & LA in LA, Life, Spring, Style, Summer, Travel on 04/25/19Hellooooo from home sweet home Chicago. I’m officially back from my vacation, which, to be quite honest, I’d probably be way more bummed about if I wasn’t heading back to the OC for my sister’s college graduation in three weeks ð Damn, did it feel good to be out there. Especially knowing that I will be moving to LA in just a few months! I ended up being pretty MIA on Instagram during my trip, so I hope you all forgive me for the next couple weeks of California content coming your way! Since I was traveling with my boyfriend, (and for the first time!), I was really mindful of being present and making sure it didn’t turn into a full on blogger “work trip,” which typically involves a shit ton of computer time, uploading photos, editing, figuring out what order to post on my feed, all that jazz… Don’t get me wrong, I got pictures for daaaaays that I am so so excited to share. Honestly, some of my favorite content ever. Which, shoutout to my boyfriend Alex because I seriously owe it all to his help; he was game for all of my creative “visions,” was a total hype man behind the camera, helped us safely cross the crazy busy streets when I saw something I liked, wore a backpack so I could pack multiple looks to wear for the day… He is such an angel and I am keeping him!! I also vlogged the whole trip! I got a ton of footage and filmed literally everything we did in Laguna and West Hollywood, soooo I don’t think I’ll be doing one of my typical Travel Diaries posts outside of this outfit recap… I may do a “what to do during day in WeHo” itinerary post however, because we had one of the most perfect days ever just walking around and exploring on Saturday. It turns out Alex and I are like the perfect travel partners; we are very yin and yang and overall brought different things to the table when it came to adventuring (something that definitely gets brought to light when you travel with someone for the first time!). I was the visionary of the trip; my skill set definitely lies in the research part, picking out restaurants and figuring out all the cool spots to go. I suck at some of the more detail oriented stuff, like managing timing, transportation logistics, maps, crossing streets lol, all of which Alex is great at; he took the lead with that so I could just skip around and take pictures by pink walls #DreamTeam Anyway! I’ll be working on editing my Laguna & LA vlog this week and will get it uploaded ASAP. For now, I wanted to share all of my favorite looks from the trip. California seriously makes taking pictures such a dream. There are flower walls, and pink walls, and oceans, and mountains, and magical things everywhere you look, wherever you go. Still doesn’t feel real that this inspirational and beautiful place will be my home soon. Laguna & Newport Loved wearing this darling little floral romper (Revolve, $120) to dinner and drinks! It features an open back, peasant sleeves, and buttons going down the front. I ordered it in a size small but definitely could have done with an x-small since I’m not particularly busty lol. Love me some Anine Bing. I have another one of their graphic printed pieces and wear it allllll the time; so happy I picked up this cool tiger tee. Definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of their stuff is awesome. Very soft and thick material! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. This For Love & Lemons top ($150) was definitely more of a splurge but I’m obsessed! It is fairly cropped, so it’s perfect to pair with all things high waisted, and it has the prettiest floral pattern on it. West Hollywood, LA It was so much fun shooting this pretty floral dress from ASOS ($40)! We came across so many killer backdrops on our walk in WeHo, and Alex was kind enough to snap away the entire time. Obviously this can be dressed up, but I loved pairing the girlieness with a little unexpected edge with the sneakers and oversized denim jacket. Okaaaay this was hands down my favorite look of the entire trip! I felt comfortable and a little funky and just very much myself. I love when outfits do that for ya. I normally am not a huge red girl, but when I came across these superdown joggers ($66) I knew we were meant to be. I’ve been loving all things sporty vibes recently! I went with a monochromatic look and paired them with this red knit tank from Aritzia ($88). Oh! And these somewhat ridiculous but also very cool sunglasses by Quay. I had picked them up from a boutique earlier in the day and was like yeeeep these are going with the red look. Ok, so I picked up this tee shirt dress & lavender denim jacket at a little boutique in Fairfax and unfortunately none of it is listed on their site ð Highly recommend checking out NANA JUDY if you’re ever in town; they are an aussie line and have super funky men and women’s stuff. I wore this ASOS bodycon dress with an oversized denim jacket, black YSL crossbody, and black heels for our last night in LA. I loved it and can’t wear it again in Chicago. It is made out of this thick, stretchy, ribbed fabric, has long sleeves and thumbholes, which make it feel super sporty. Don’t be afraid of neon, it’s actually way easier to style than I thought! I think it definitely calls for more of an edgy-cool-girl-vibe, so pair with black accents, maybe some silver or PVC, ugly white dad sneakers perhaps? Commit to the mood!!
