Little Blue Dress in Spring, Style, Summer on 06/13/17 Hello sweet friends! I have officially shifted into summer gear as the Chicago forecast creeps into the high 80’s throughout the upcoming week (of course, accompanied by t-storms, as is also often Chicago summer tradition); today was about as typical as they come here: 94, humid, muggy, the air literally felt thick as mud. I’ve learned in the 12 years that I’ve lived here that days like today call for little summer dresses, paired with easy, no-fuss sandals, and cool shades. It’s all about staying cool and not being restricted. With a basic “everyday” dress like this, pair it with your favorite sandals for a little pop of metallic, color, neutral, pom, whatever you’re feeling, with minimalistic gold jewelry, like this dainty crescent moon necklace. Dress // Bucket Bag // Sandals // Moon Necklace // Sunglasses // Cuff // Cable Bracelet This little blue dress by Her Boutique has some really cute detailing on it, but overall is super basic and just goes with everything. I love it for its versatility, and I love that you can throw it on and run out of the house, looking instantly pulled together. And of course, I love how it helps you stay cool in the heat! It also would look adorable with a lightweight duster cardigan for cooler summer nights; I’ve been seeing the trend everywhere. In addition to being an adorable summer look, long, flowy cardigans are a great idea for when you’re going out at night— Restaurants and movie theaters, etc, are often kept a little chilly inside, especially during the summertime, so it’s nice having an extra layer. I just ordered a couple that I’m super excited to show you guys; be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@theblondeinpink)! This dress is swingy, fun to wear, and the prettiest shade of blue. I paired it with my silver metallic Jack Rogers; I bought these sandals almost five years ago, and they have proven to be such a classic shoe. They continuously are in style, are in this cool metallic tone (which comes in a few other styles!) and are in stock year round. This is definitely one of my go to pairs of sandals throughout the spring and summer; I love wearing my Jacks with everything from sundresses, shorts and a cute top, to even just sweatpant joggers and a basic tee.
