Peplum x Blush Pink in Spring, Style, Summer on 04/27/17 Happy Friday Jr. (stole that from my Bitmoji, ha!) and happy almost May, everyone! I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, but life is just flyyyying by. I can’t believe Coachella is now several weeks in the past and April is essentially over… Maybe it’s the extra sunlight, the warmer temps, and having fun things to look forward to, but this month was seriously over in a blink. Spring in Chicago is always a little hit or miss. In some years, we’ve had nothing but snow, rain, cold… Followed by maybe a week of blooms, followed by immediate summer weather? It’s weird, but that’s Chicago for ya. This season we have been pretty lucky; normally for my outfit shoots I’ll have extra layering pieces I’ll take off for the shot, but lately I actually have been going jacket free! Best feeling ever. This little under $20 peplum striped top has quickly become one of my favorites. It pairs perfectly with a denim jacket, pastel colored accents, a straw hat- Basically everything that is springy and good in this world! I love that it’s more of a subtle peplum too, so I’m sure it would be flattering on anyone. I’ve been wearing it with everything but I looove how it looks with distressed white jeans! I’ve talked about these bad boys on the blog before; they are without a doubt my fave! They have the perfect rips and just the right amount of stress. I wouldn’t exactly describe white jeans as the most forgiving of pants… But I find these ones to be super, super flattering. I have a few other pairs of white jeans which have quickly made their way to the bottom of the drawer… Sorry, I play favorites! These Marc Fisher shoes are easily the comfiest heeled sandals I own; the first day I got them I wore them outside and walking around for around 8 hours, didn’t get a single blister and my feet felt great. They also are only $60, and feature a really beautiful faux-suede (so perfect for any vegan friends out there!) I also picked up these rose gold sunnies from H&M for Coachella; knowing myself, I figured it would be smart to bring a pair of (what I refer to as) knock-around sunnies and not risk breaking or losing a pair of expensive ones. I managed to hold onto these over the course of the weekend (go me! such a responsible adult!) and they are now my ultimate go to’s! I highlight recommend them if you’re intriguing by the round shape style that is currently super popular, but not totally sure how they’ll look on your face shape. These ones are only $10, come in a bunch of other color combos, so definitely worth getting if you’re looking to try out a new trend.
