Always Wine-O’-Clock With Winc in Life on 04/25/17 We made it through Monday fam! I’ll be honest here, for me there is nothing better than taking the edge off with a nice glass of wine after a tough work week (or winding down after the end of a Monday… because Monday). I take the expression “rosé all day” extremely seriously, and now that it is finally getting warmer and sunnier, a nice lil glass of rosé has become my go-to drink, especially for brunch! I realize the basic-betchiness in that sentiment, (I mean LOL hello, this is a thing): But let’s all just admit it, it is genuinely refreshing and delicious, as well as pretty and pink. What more could ya want? I also am a huge red girl; one of my favorite things in life is a nice glass alongside a big ole’ bowl of pasta (in case you’re wondering, the Rigatoni Arcobaleno: mozzarella di bufala, zucchini, light cherry tomato sauce, and basil, at Terroni in Toronto, is my absolute FAVORITE pasta dish in the whole wide world). That said, when Winc, an online wine membership club, reached out to work together, I quickly jumped on the chance. I had heard about wine memberships in the past and had thought it sounded so up my alley; I love the idea of getting exposed to different wines you might not otherwise ever try, and the convenience of having it delivered to your door. However, most of the companies were somewhat overpriced, and didn’t have great flexibility in the kinds of wine you get. Okay, so let me first start by saying that Winc does everything entirely differently than the other guys. They make their own wine, the team led by sommelier Brian Smith, their bottles feature really beautiful, cool, eye-catching designs on the labels, which are done by artists the company partners with. I tried 5 bottles of wine with my order. Francis is more of a cab kinda guy, so I got a few bottles of cabs and blends. These were the two rosé bottles I ordered; I’m not going to lie, the main reason for choosing these two may have been impacted by how awesome the labels were… These also were described as being not very sweet, which is how I like my rosé. When you sign up for Winc, you first take a palate profile quiz to determine which bottles should be recommended to you. Based off your choices, a box is specifically curated to your taste. You can customize or change any of the choices made for you, and you get to choose from a large selection of whites, reds, rosés, and bubbles. As a member, you can order your wines at any time during the month, can skip a month as many times as you want. I can’t remember the exact amount of days, but the shipping time was very fast. 4/5 bottles were a total hit! One little detail I really liked about my first Winc box was that it came with a little wine journal. It helps guide your note taking, prompting questions that will actually help you remember how it tasted and what your thoughts were. In addition to being a lovely monthly treat for yourself, it would also make for a great gift. I popped open a couple of the bottles while a couple of my girlfriends were in town visiting and they were all super impressed! I also love this concept because I think there are a ton of ways to take advantage of your membership. I myself do love keeping a few bottles in my little kitchen wine rack on hand, and Winc definitely helps build up your vino supply. I was thinking additionally, because you get to choose when you get your box, it would be super fun to organize a little get together with a small group and coordinate your Winc box to arrive just beforehand; you could make up some charcuterie boards and have yourself a wine tasting party. Source: Pinterest You can try out Winc for yourself with my code “theblondeinpink.” It’ll get you 4 bottles of wine for $30 (value $52). As always, thanks for reading, and I would love love to hear your thoughts if any of your try it out! I’m positive you’ll love it just as much as I do! Ready for my next box whenever now…
