Stay All Day Color With Lipsense

Hey friends, happy Friday Eve!

Today I’m sharing a super cool 3 step process to get crazy long lasting and pigmented lip color. Lipsense by SeneGene is water-proof, kiss-proof, smudge-proof and can last up to 18 hours. I’m a big fan of berry/wine lipsticks, so I snagged the color “Napa” for my review.

The application process is a little different than how I normally but on lipstick, but still super easy and strait forward. As I always do, I start my exfoliating my lips with my go to lip scrub and follow with lip balm, just so the color goes on smoothly and and evenly. Then, I take my Napa tube and give it a little shake. I use the wand to begin applying the color to the corner of my mouth, following along my bottom lip in one even stroke- with Lipsense you don’t rub your lips together between layers, as hard as it is not to do so! Make sure you keep your lips slightly apart from one another to avoid this. Follow with your top lip. Make sure you give yourself about 10 seconds for each layer to dry, and put on another 2-3 coats depending on how dark you want the color to be.

The layering process is actually really important because the color can break down with the pH balance of your skin. The 1st layer touches your skin’s pH and will begin to break down first and fastest. The 2nd layer is protected by the first layer and allows the color to build up and stay put! The 3rd layer protects the second layer from sheering by keeping away friction and saliva.

Finish with a couple swipes on the moisturizing gloss and use the “Oops!” remover to erase any unevenness around your lip lines.

And voila! 3 steps for all day color. I’ll admit that the application process obviously takes a tiny bit longer than regular lipsticks; however, if you factor in how many times a day you would otherwise be reapplying product, you save time in the long run! I typically will only reapply after I eat or drink something- other than that, this stuff really has some staying power.
