Winter Skincare Essentials in Health & Beauty, Life on 12/14/16 Hey friends! Now that winter is in full swing, I’ve switched up my skincare routine to incorporate products that target the season specific problems that cold weather can cause. Personally, I get really bad dry skin during this time of year, so hydration and exfoliation are the two major things I try and focus on. Currently at the top of my skincare obsessions is Saison’s Autumn Cleansing Oil, a non-foaming cleanser that works to remove makeup, thoroughly cleanse your skin, and give it a little boost of moisture and after glow. I seriously cannot get over how freakin’ amazing my skin looks and feels after I use this stuff! I typically use this around 3 times a week, depending on how dry my skin is. I love how it really helps lock in my moisturizer afterwards too; it makes my skin super soft and dewey looking, all without being shiny or overly oily. This oil is made by hand, out of a special blend of autumn botanical oils and organic sweet almond, grapeseed and jojoba. These are powerful sourced of antioxidants and phytonutrients that are super charged to combat skin issues that arise this time of year. Additionally, it increases skin circulation, helps treat sun damage and early signs of aging, and has the most delicious lavender scent! This stuff is the real deal- It’s totally changed the skincare game for me! For the past month or so, I’ve also been using Tula’s Purifying Cleanser, an all-in-one gel based cleanser that uses probiotic technology to remove makeup, cleanse your pores, and condition skin. So far I’ve been loving the results! I’ve always been a basic Cetaphil kind of girl when it comes to cleansers; I’m very picky and think most cleansers are totally gimmicky (I’m looking at you Neutrogena “micro bead technology”). But this one fits the bill. It’s simple, it’s effective, it has really powerful natural ingredients, and it gives great results. The formula works to remove impurities while also protecting skin’s natural moisture balance, hollaaa!! The probiotic strain leaves skin feeling nourished and balanced and oh so smooth. It’s also helped clear up my complexion, another problem I sometimes encounter over the winter. It’s also suitable for all skin types and ages; however, it’s particularly great for people with dry skin. Twice a week, I follow washing my face with Tula’s Exfoliating Treatment Mask. It’s a clay mask, (my absolute fave!!), and works to exfoliate, decongest, and purify your skin to overall improve complexion and hydration. It’s lactic acid and Bentonite clay based, which work to peel away impurities and dead skin, while the plant-based ingredients work to hydrate and deliver nutrients to heal and calm the skin. Like the cleanser, the mask also contains probiotics to leave skin nourished and balanced. Dermalogica’s Phyto Replenish Oil has been a total godsend to me this season. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but this stuff is practically liquid gold. It’s a super light oil that you put on before your moisturizer, and it reinforces the skin’s protective barrier, giving you dewy and hydrated skin. It also contains ingredients like Sunflower and Rice Bran which fight off free radicals to prevent signs of aging. Absolutely love love love. Paired with the Saison cleansing oil, it’s the perfect weapon to combat winter dryness. Xo, Meghan
