Suja Juice To The Rescue in Food on 04/06/16 This sweet little surprise could not have come at a better time, I was in serious need of a midweek pick me up! I got to try three flavors from San Diego based juice company Suja. They are the fastest growing organic, cold-pressured and Non-GMO beverage company in the country, and their juices are bomb dot com, super fresh and flavorful. I cannnnot wait to get my hands on my own juicer once I graduate and move into my new apartment in June, but until then, having a few of these babies on hand is the perfect compromise. I tried out Sweet Beets, Moon Greens, and Uber Greens. The name Sweet Beets is no joke! I found this one to be a little too sugary for my taste with all of the pineapple juice and banana puree, but with the balance of veggies like beets and carrot it was still delicious. Ingredients: apple, carrot, orange, beet, banana, pineapple, and turmeric I absolutely loved the kick from the turmeric, which is one of my favorite go to spices. I’m a big fan of putting it in everything from hot water and lemon to coconut milk! It’s a great anti-aging spice that can help reduce inflammatory pain and speed up healing. Uber Greens was super refreshing and revitalizing and chock full of leafy greens (which is awesome because I’m always searching for sneaky new ways to put veggies into my body). Ingredients: cucumber, celery, grapefruit, green chard, green leaf lettuce, lemon, kale, spinach, parsley, peppermint tea, and spearmint tea. All around awesome ingredients that will do a whole bunch of good for ya. Cucumbers are packed with silicon, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin K, and great for boosting skin elasticity and moisture. Lemons are a powerful detox food with immunity boosting bioflavonoids, which help strengthen blood vessels and aid in the prevention of varicose veins. Spinach is filled with anti-aging nutrients like vitamin A, which helps promote skin cell turnover, and glutathione, which defends against DNA and mitochondrial damage. Pretty cool stuff. If you can’t tell, I’m a pretty big health food lover and a big believer in the power of food. I love a good donut as much as the next girl, but I’ll admit I get equally excited about putting things into my body that I know are going to make me look and feel great. Last one I tried was Noon Greens, super nutrient dense and delicious. I thought this one had the best balance of sweetness and tartness (I like my juices more of the leafy side than the fruity, sugary side.) The apple in this one balanced out all the greeny goodness perfectly! Ingredients: apple, celery, cucumber, kale, collard greens, lemon, ginger, spinach, chlorella, and spirulina. Okay last one, but I was super pumped that this juice included some sea veggies! Ya don’t see that in your average grocery store juice. Sea plants like chlorella and spirulina are packed with omega-3s and trace minerals that are awesome for your hair, skin, and nails. They also are packed with iodine, which helps regulate your metabolism. Overall, I highly recommend this brand. They have a huge variety of flavors on their website, where you can order online or find stores that carry their juices. http://www.sujajuice.com/ Xo, Meghan
