Get Juicy (Apple, Beet, Carrot, Ginger Juice) in Food, Recipes on 03/31/16 Hey hey party people, hope your weeks are going well! One more day till Friday! Being the avid procrastinator that I am, I’m always looking for new ways to put off doing the things that I should probably be doing. Which is mostly schoolwork. Did I mention I’m a senior with less than two months until graduation? So yeaaah, you could say I’m slightly checked out. Today in the three hours I had between classes, I decided to whip up some juice. I am what you might call a juice addict, and will throw down $102903 dollars at a trendy juice bar any day without even questioning it. In fact, I wish I could have done just that but sadly there aren’t any juiceries (is that a thing?) near me. So, I decided to make my own. With no juicer. Or a blender. Or proper sized strainer. This flavor combination is seriously unreal and is seriously good for you. Apples are full of pectin, which helps fill you up and helps the body detoxify. They’re also filled with compounds that defend against harmful, aging free-radicals. Beets are filled with vitamins and minerals and tons of detox-friendly pectin and fiber. Carrots possess a ton of Vitamin A, which keeps hair, skin, and nails looking flawless. *I do have an immersion blender. Which I stuck in this cup and attempted to blend its contents. I got covered in beets, so maybe don’t do this. Here’s what you’ll need: 1 peeled, cored and diced apple 1 peeled beet 3 peeled, medium sized carrots 1 tablespoon sized piece of peeled ginger Juice of half a lemon If you have a juicer, throw it all in their and juice away. Otherwise, throw it all in a blender or, a food processor, which is what I did. I threw in a splash of water to get things going. After everything’s all nice and blended, use either a nut milking bag or a strainer and throw everything in there, squeezing out the juice and leaving the pulp behind. Enjoy! Hope you don’t get as much beet juice on your face as I did. Xo, Meghan
